When Kayla and Robert first approached me about their wedding plans, I couldn’t help but feel excited. They were planning a destination wedding on a cruise ship, and as a wedding photographer, I knew that this would be an unforgettable event to capture.
After getting ready in the spacious suite rooms and watching whales breech next to the ship, we got Kayla and Robert to their first look location. As Robert turned to see Kayla for the first time in her gorgeous, sparkly dress, the look on his face was one of pure joy and love. The emotions were palpable as they then shared their vows together in an intimate moment before their ceremony.
The Royal Caribbean Navigator of the Seas was the perfect setting for their special day. The ship’s top deck was transformed into a beautiful ceremony space, complete with a floral arch and the view of the open seas. The navy-blue accents and the blue of the sea created a romantic and elegant atmosphere. They both looked absolutely radiant as they said their “I do’s” surrounded by their closest family and friends.
After their sweet first dance together, they invited their guests onto the dance floor and everyone took a moment to strut their finest moves. After all the dancing, it was time to cut the cake, because who says you can’t have dessert before dinner!? Their cake was beautifully decorated and featured figurines from Up (Ellie and Carl) and each of Kayla and Robert’s pups – it was perfect!
After the reception, the wedding party headed to the main dining room for dinner and toasts. After tearing up to some beautiful toasts (and finishing an incredible meal), the wedding party headed to the ship’s promenade to celebrate the New Year. We all stood in awe and celebration as thousands of balloons fell around us. What a way to end 2022!
I was honored to be able to capture every moment of this special day for Kayla and Robert and I wish them all the happiness in the world as they set sail into happily ever after.
