Paicines Ranch Autumn Wedding – Vintage Trucks and Gorgeous Sunsets: Carly + Kevin

Autumn wedding. Golden colors. California sunshine. Vintage Ford truck. Two incredible humans. Along with families I want to be adopted into. And a pup. Carly and Kevin’s wedding was an absolute dream to photograph.

After an engagement shoot earlier in the year with Carly and Kevin, I left with cheeks that hurt from laughing for two hours straight. And a collection of engagement photos that were not only beautiful but full of joy, playfulness, and fun. I could not wait for their wedding day to come around on a sun-shiny October day.

The Paicines Ranch set the stage for a grandiose backdrop of golden hills dotted with oaks, a sweeping ceremony lawn, and charming buildings and cottages. And Kevin’s grandfather’s Ford truck sat in front of the ceremony lawn, and I’d like to think invited his spirit to come to join in the celebration.

Their fall wedding day started with getting ready at the grand Grogan House, where the bridal crew dawned their sienna-colored robes, which Carly had gifted. After having way too much fun getting ready, we set up under a pepper tree for their first look. Carly gently grabbed Kevin’s tush, and when he turned around to see his soon-to-be wife for the first time, his jaw dropped. I think his jaw dropped again when he saw that she had POCKETS in her gorgeous, flowy wedding dress. (I love first looks – they give couples a moment to be with each other before the aisle walk and allow for less time commitment to formal photos later.)

Again, during the ceremony, his jaw dropped when Carly, escorted by her sweet father, walked down the aisle. The two said “I do” and bounded back down the aisle.

The reception started with a grand entrance and then went straight into their first dances. Dinner proceeded by the incredible Chef Carlos of Paicines Ranch and featured lamb harvested straight from the ranch. Talk about farm-to-table!

After dinner, the dance floor opened, and this crew knew how to get down. Grandmom got out there too (that’s when you know it’s really GOOD)!

The night continued after the reception in the outdoor area perfectly paired with heaters and fire pits. I set my camera down and reveled in how much love there was all around. Carly’s parents and siblings brought out their guitars and sang, and the night couldn’t have been more perfect.

Carly and Kevin, thank you for the honor of capturing your wedding day!

Carly + Kevin’s Review:

“Alicia and her husband Keith did a phenomenal job not only capturing gorgeous shots on my wedding day but also our engagement shoot and rehearsal dinner. Her positive energy is infectious and she made me feel so comfortable. She also had an incredibly quick turn around time to get my final photos to me! Alicia goes above and beyond got her clients. If you have the opportunity to work with her, I would absolutely recommend!”
