Working within the field of weddings is my jam! From the planning to the details to the big day, I am there beyond a photographer to make sure my couples can sit back and ENJOY their wedding. My fun energy will put you and your wedding party at ease and delight you with vibrant, joyous, and timeless photos capturing your love story.
Where did your photography affair begin?
Starting young with mud and nature as my creative outlet, I grew up and moved on to the sophistication of an intimidating box with too many buttons, a camera. This led me to pursue photography in college and many long nights in the darkroom fiddling with film reels and chemicals. Over fifteen years later and I am still madly, deeply wild about photography.
Why Chasing Chickadees?
When I’m not photographing, you can find me outside. I have spent over a decade as a bird biologist, hence the Chasing Chickadees name. You might guess it’s one of my favorite birds, but bonus points if you can guess which chickadee species!
I was born and raised on the east coast and followed the birds to the west coast and never left.
After growing up in Delaware and graduating, I fledged and migrated westward. For over a decade, I followed the migrating ways of my feathered friends as a traveling wildlife biologist.
From releasing falcons in West Texas, locating woodpeckers in the Sierra Nevada, surveying for endangered birds along the Colorado River, monitoring bats in California, rescuing sea turtles in Costa Rica, studying birds in Peru, working as a cowgirl in Texas, and volunteering building a house in Guatemala, I continue my insatiable urge to explore the world. This time with my adventure partner, husband, and professional twirler. Some of our favorite adventures have been hiking the John Muir Trail, bicycling down the California coast, hanging out with orangutans in Borneo, and diving in coral reefs — with more to come!
I continue to work within wildlife biology along with photographing wedding, events, and portraits. Who says dreams can’t come true?
Whether photographing baby toads or capturing the love and passion between two humans, my heart and soul are always with me behind the lens.

THE HEART BEHIND WHAT WE DO
I was born and raised in the coastal city of Charleston, South Carolina and after marrying my husband David, we moved out to beautiful Isle of Palms. Since then, I’ve traveled up and down the East Coast documenting love stories for couples and families.
My love for photography has brought me everywhere from the beaches of Southern Florida to the mountains in Hawaii. But regardless of where I travel, the cobblestone streets and colorful houses of Charleston will always be my home.
