Santa Cruz Beach Bum

This vagabond settled down for six months in the gorgeous Santa Cruz, California frolicking a mile from the beach and living as a teacher naturalist. The exhaustion of teaching twenty-five fifth graders each week at Outdoor Science School is balanced by the joy of seeing kids explore nature. The days began with silly songs then hikes through the redwood forests in search of newts, banana slugs to kiss, and birds to track.
